Some blue chip comparison context:
Bama ratio=96% (That is disgusting)
Takeaway? We need to catch up, but hey LSU #5 in the country rank is based off a slightly worse blue chip ratio than ours!

You know what it was right? Williams saw the way that Bama player took over last game and seemed like an unstoppable force for evil and he said, “if some guy at ALABAMA?!? can play like a one man shooting machine I’m pretty sure I can do that and way more. ”
Williams was just too VOL too let a Bama player have any kind of good thing and he’s way…[Read more]
Oh please not Freeze! What a disastrous choice that would be. His awful behavior would turn off fans, and his lying and high profile scandals will also be a distraction we don’t need. There are plenty of good coaches out there without fishing in the sewer.
I can’t imagine Fulmer green lighting Freeze.

I know the florida loss was tough, but since we’ve had victories over two ranked teams since then, any chance we’ll hear another podcast soon? 😉

Ah bananas… I accidentally entered one week as my old site handle (ebreese1) and this week as my current handle (Evan). Hey @joelgamedaydepot-com, can you combine my two selves? I’ll stick with my proper name going forward (Evan).
Evan commented on the post, Tennessee 24, UTEP 0: Vols not bad, but sloppy against the Miners 7 months ago
So i think it’s smart to give Chryst some action (although he’s seen collegiate games before in his previous stop). But by all means, in these two cupcakes, give him some meaningful snaps.
What I don’t get is why the gameplan when he’s in there is run, run, run, punt. I mean what is the point of giving him live game reps if all he’s practicing…[Read more]
Alright, I remembered to play this time 🙂
Let’s do TN rushing > UTEP Total
Double or nothing for 50 pts! (They’ve turned the ball over 3 times in two games vs weak opposition. And while we aren’t good at sacking thus far, I expect it will be a major point of emphasis this week + UTEP has been sacked 7 times in two games!)
4-10 points because…[Read more]

Dang I was moving this weekend and missed the opportunity to enter my answers. I tooootally would have guessed all these right! 😉

Nice write up Brad!
Regarding those gators… Nice to see them lose another big streak! (Although makes me more nervous about KY)
Ugh that really stinks for Kennedy. Can’t catch a break. And I feel extra bad for him because his only chance to show what he’s got for Vols fans was a rough showing last week. I was really looking forward to his efforts at redemption in the coming weeks. :-/

I always appreciate the ranking comparisons.
Given the ambiguity of the first game starting roster I understand you had to make some guesses. But why are we guessing that 4* .9679 composite RB Ty Chandler is NOT going to be the guy?Is it just his size vs what we expect Helton to prefer?
Nice to get a QB in the fold. Sounds like an intriguing prospect too!
Not to take away from the recruiting chops of our staff, but his choice of UT over OSU is less exciting when I learned that the Buckeyes picked up a commitment on Sunday from a 4* Dwan Matthis (Former MSU commit). Hard to say how that played into Maurer’s choice (maybe not at…[Read more]
This is a really interesting way of looking at it Joel!
I think it might also explain a lot of the differences in fan reaction to a season. We talk about “Negavols” and Idiot Optimists but perhaps along side optimism and pessimism we ought to consider what aspect of the game are we focused on. This last decade has been tough on fans who are…[Read more]
As a grad student at Cincinnati, I’m pumped by the idea of getting to play them in the Sweet 16. Not because I’m disputing Pete’s point that they are a tough match-up for us, but just because victory would be so sweet, I’d wear orange to teach that Friday 🙂
Admiral is so fun to watch. He’s put this team on his absurd shoulders.
Also, I wouldn’t want to be in the locker room after Barnes makes a promise like that… I expect a better product in the second half

I seem to remember a time not too long ago when Butch was freaking out at the sounds of Sweet Home Alabama, now it’s his ringtone. Such is life for an a football coach.
